Keto Garlic Butter Steak Bites: 15-Min Best Takeout Alternative

  • Author: SOFIA
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick, high-protein keto-friendly dinner that mimics restaurant-quality garlic butter steak bites in just 15 minutes. This recipe features a perfect sear and a rich, aromatic sauce without the carb crash.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs (680g) Ribeye or Sirloin Steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil or Avocado Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt (coarse kosher salt)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper (freshly cracked)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 4 tablespoons (60g) Unsalted Butter
  • 68 cloves Fresh Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Low-Sodium Beef Broth

Instructions

  1. Pat the steak cubes completely dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear.
  2. In a bowl, toss the steak cubes with coconut oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add coconut oil and let it shimmer.
  4. Add steak bites in a single layer, ensuring not to crowd the pan. Cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Sear the steak for 1-2 minutes per side until a deep brown crust forms. The total cooking time should be 4-5 minutes for medium-rare to medium. Remove steak and set aside on a plate.
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes.
  7. Stir constantly for 30-60 seconds until garlic is fragrant but not browned.
  8. Pour in beef broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up browned bits (fond) from the bottom.
  9. Simmer sauce for 30 seconds until slightly thickened.
  10. Return steak bites to the pan and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce.
  11. Let sit for 30 seconds to heat through, then turn off heat and stir in fresh parsley.
  12. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the pan to avoid steaming the steak. Ensure steak is completely dry before searing. Watch garlic closely as it burns quickly. For dairy-free, swap butter for ghee or avocado oil. Do not freeze leftovers as the sauce may separate.
