Description
A homemade iced latte made with real honey and warm cardamom spice, offering a flavorful, customizable alternative to expensive coffee shop drinks that is ready in just 5 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 shots of espresso or 1 cup strong cold brew
- 2–3 tablespoons raw honey
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1 cup milk (whole, oat, almond, or coconut)
- Ice cubes
- 1 tablespoon warm water (for dissolving honey)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Brew espresso or strong cold brew coffee and let it cool completely.
- In a mason jar or small bowl, combine honey and ground cardamom. Add 1 tablespoon of warm water and stir or shake vigorously until a smooth, liquid paste forms.
- Pour the cooled coffee into the jar with the honey-cardamom mixture. Add ice cubes and shake or stir well until the honey is fully dissolved.
- Pour milk into a separate glass over ice. Lightly froth if desired.
- Pour the honey-cardamom coffee mixture over the milk to create a layered effect.
- Gently stir before drinking to mix flavors. Garnish with a dusting of cardamom or drizzle of honey if desired.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Warm the honey slightly or mix with warm water first to prevent clumping in cold coffee. Use fresh cardamom for best flavor. A pinch of salt enhances the sweetness. For a vegan version, substitute honey with agave or maple syrup and use plant-based milk. The honey-cardamom syrup can be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to two weeks.
