Description
A simple, 3-ingredient recipe for rich and fluffy vanilla sweet cream cold foam that costs pennies to make and tastes better than coffee shop versions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1–2 teaspoons simple syrup or sugar (optional)
- A tiny pinch of sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Chill the heavy cream and milk in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes to ensure they are very cold.
- Combine the heavy cream, milk, vanilla extract, and optional sweeteners/salt in a small mason jar or shaker bottle with a tight lid.
- Secure the lid tightly to prevent leaks.
- Shake the jar vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the mixture thickens and holds its shape, or use an electric frother for 20-30 seconds.
- Fill a tall glass with ice and your favorite cold brew or iced coffee.
- Slowly pour the foam over the back of a spoon or directly into the glass to create a distinct layer on top.
- Enjoy immediately, either sipping the foam intact or stirring it into the coffee.
Notes
Ensure ingredients are very cold for best results. Do not over-shake or the cream will turn into butter. The foam can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days in a sealed jar, though it will thicken and should be shaken before use. For dairy-free options, use full-fat coconut cream.
