High-Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Balls: 5-Ingredient Snack

  • Author: SOFIA
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12-15 servings 1x

Description

A quick, no-bake, high-protein snack made with just five simple ingredients. These chocolate peanut butter energy balls are perfect for afternoon slumps, pre-workout fuel, or a healthy dessert alternative.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 1 scoop (30g) Chocolate Protein Powder (whey or plant-based)
  • ½ cup (125g) Creamy Peanut Butter (natural preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) Honey
  • ¼ cup (40g) Mini Chocolate Chips
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions

  1. Add rolled oats, protein powder, salt, and any optional seeds (chia/flax) to a large mixing bowl. Stir to distribute evenly.
  2. Add creamy peanut butter and honey to the bowl. Mix thoroughly with a spoon or spatula until the dough is combined and holds together when pinched.
  3. Fold in mini chocolate chips gently to avoid crushing them.
  4. Pinch off about 1 tablespoon of dough and roll between palms to form smooth balls. Aim for 12-15 balls.
  5. Place rolled balls on a lined sheet pan or plate.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 15-30 minutes to firm up.
  7. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the fridge or freezer.

Notes

Do not use instant oats as they make the balls mushy. If the dough is too crumbly, add more honey or peanut butter. If too sticky, add more oats. Chilling is crucial for texture. Can be made vegan by using plant-based protein, maple syrup, and dairy-free chocolate chips.
