Fall Baked Brie with Fig Jam and Toasted Walnuts

  • Author: SOFIA
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

An easy, stress-free appetizer featuring a wheel of Brie topped with sweet fig jam and crunchy toasted walnuts. It bakes into a gooey, warm dip perfect for entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wheel Brie cheese (approx. 89 oz / 250g)
  • ½ cup (150g) fig jam
  • ½ cup (60g) walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 1 small baguette or 1 loaf of sourdough, sliced
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary sprigs (optional garnish)
  • Honey (optional drizzle)
  • Flaky sea salt (optional pinch)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Remove Brie from the fridge 30 minutes before baking to bring to room temperature. Unwrap the cheese and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Toast walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes or in the oven for 3-4 minutes until fragrant. Let cool slightly and chop roughly.
  4. Spread the fig jam evenly over the top of the Brie wheel.
  5. Sprinkle the toasted walnuts over the jam, pressing them in gently.
  6. Bake for 15-18 minutes until the cheese is soft to the touch and the center jiggles like gelatin.
  7. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes to allow the cheese to set slightly.
  8. Serve immediately with crusty bread or baguette slices.

Notes

Ensure the Brie is at room temperature before baking for even melting. Toasting the walnuts enhances their flavor. Do not overbake, or the cheese will leak excessively. Let the baked brie rest for 5 minutes before serving to help it hold its shape.
